Oppose SAVE Act, protect voting rights for all citizens

To: Rep. Calvert

From: A constituent in Corona, CA

April 1, 2025

With the factual information provided about the SAVE Act, I believe it is crucial to advocate against this bill due to its potential to disenfranchise eligible voters and create significant barriers to voter registration. The overly restrictive documentary proof requirements for citizenship could prevent many citizens, particularly vulnerable groups like the elderly, from exercising their fundamental right to vote. This bill appears to be a blatant attempt at voter suppression under the guise of "election integrity." As representatives, we have a solemn duty to protect and expand access to voting, which is the bedrock of our democracy. I urge decisive action to oppose the SAVE Act and instead pursue measures that make voter registration more accessible while maintaining proper safeguards against ineligible voting. Upholding the sacred right to vote for all citizens must be the top priority.
