Protect the Boundary Waters Wilderness

To: Sen. Kaine, Sen. Warner

From: A verified voter in Herndon, VA

January 27

I’m contacting you concerning H.J. RES 140 which is pending a vote in the Senate. This resolution would roll back existing protections in the Rainy River Watershed which drains into the Boundary Waters wilderness in Minnesota. The resolution would allow a foreign-owned copper sulfide mine to begin operating in the Superior National Forest. Any run-off from this mine would pollute the Boundary Waters. I want you to vote AGAINST HJR 140 and SUPPORT Senator Smith’s bill to permanently protect the Boundary Waters (S-1366). Thank-You
