I am writing as a concerned constituent to demand immediate action to rein in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The inhumane and lawless behavior exhibited by ICE agents under this administration is intolerable, unforgivable, and fundamentally un-American.
We are not a country that puts armed thugs on the streets to harass, intimidate, and terrorize our communities—whether citizens or non-citizens. We are a nation built on the rule of law, due process, and the protection of basic human rights. The current tactics—warrantless arrests, raids in unmarked vans, agents in plain clothes and masks, enforcement at sensitive locations like schools, hospitals, and places of worship- undermine public safety, erode trust, and enable impersonators who exploit fear to commit violence, particularly against women.
These actions do not reflect the values we hold dear. They are not enforcement, they are fear-mongering. Congress has a duty to act now. I demand that you:
Withhold funding for ICE and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) until strict accountability measures are in place.
End warrantless home invasions and suspicionless stops.
Prohibit enforcement at sensitive locations.
Require all agents to wear clear, visible identification and operate in marked vehicles.
Hold impersonators and abusive agents accountable to the fullest extent of the law.
You work for us. Do your job. Protect the people. Uphold the Constitution. Put an end to this brutality now.
