As you are aware, the Rethuglican “President” has threatened not to pay Federal workers after the shutdown ends, contrary to the law he signed in 2019. This, along with many other things should serve to indicate that the Rethuglicans do not intend to negotiate in good faith. This “president” has gone so far as to elicit a legal opinion opposite to one received when the bill was passed. Now there’s a possibility that he will go back on his word yet again and violate the law. Hold them to it. In addition to keeping the health care subsidies, now you must now make them add to the CR or budget a specific authorization for Federal employee back pay for the shut down the Rethuglicans caused. Make them put it in any legislation that they want you to agree to. If these are the rules they want to play by, make them eat it.
