I'm writing to express my deep outrage over the constant mass shootings happening in the United States. I ask that you take immediate legislative action to stop this epidemic of gun violence by:  • Instituting universal background checks for ammo and gun buyers,  • Reinstating a federal ban on the purchase of high-capacity magazines and military-style assault weapons,  • Closing the loophole that lets people buy guns at shows and through private sellers without background checks, and  • Funding evidence-based community anti-violence programs, like Ceasefire, which have been shown to reduce shootings.
