Hegseth unfit for Defense Secretary role, remove immediately
To: Rep. Maloy, Sen. Lee, Sen. Curtis
From: A constituent in Salt Lake City, UT
April 21
Hegseth has proven himself unfit to serve as Defense Secretary not once, but twice now by recklessly sharing highly classified operational details about military strikes through insecure private messaging channels. Leaking sensitive intelligence relating to aircraft movements and schedules for imminent combat operations against Houthi targets in Yemen gravely undermined operational security and endangered American lives. This egregious second breach of trust compounds the initial Signal chat scandal where Hegseth mistakenly included a journalist, demonstrating a pattern of extremely poor judgment that cannot be tolerated in someone holding such a consequential national security position. For the integrity of our armed forces' missions and safety of our troops, new leadership thoroughly committed to safeguarding classified information must be installed at the Defense Department without further delay.
