ONE BIG BEAUTIFUL “BULLSHIT BILL - my opposition 1. Oppose Medicaid and SNAP cuts, totaling approximately $880 billion, and Medicare cuts, (totaling over $500 billion). These are “auto-cuts” due to the PAYGO provision. 2. Oppose cuts to contempt of court enforcement. This essentially limits the power of federal judges and, importantly, is retroactive. It does not belong in a budget bill. It is clearly retribution. 3. Block the over $1 trillion Pentagon budget along with the Musk handout. $150 billion increase is being proposed in the Pentagon budget. This includes approximately $25 billion earmarked for the “Golden Dome” project (dates back to the Reagan days). Elon Musk has already proposed a plan. This is an apparent conflict of interest. 4. Stop the state's proposed AI regulatory ban, which would prohibit states from enforcing, making, or enforcing AI regulatory rules for 10 years. This bill gives unprecedented power to technology oligarchs. It does not belong in this budget bill. 5. Other harmful provisions: a. $351 billion in cuts to student aid (like Pell grants) b. $50 billion in cuts to the Federal Employee Retirement System. c. 70% slashing of funds proposed to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. d. Widespread rollbacks proposed to climate-focused programs and clean energy tax incentives. e. A $300 billion cut and stringent work requirements for Medicaid will affect 42 million people nationwide. 6. The REINS Act, a long-time Republican goal, proposes new control over federal rulemaking. As such, it does not belong in this budget bill. 7. Defunding of public schools (ECCA). This diverts $10 billion annually from public education funds to private school vouchers, part of a tax credit scheme for the rich. 8. Block the increase for ICE and mass deportation. Between $90 and $175 billion in increases are being proposed over 10 years, allowing the government to expand the Alien Enemies Act, build a massive immigration jail in Guantanamo, and engage in other anti-freedom activities such as for-profit detention centers. 9. Oppose the sale of public lands. This bill mandates new drilling leases in the Gulf of Mexico and in Alaska. Calls for 4,000,000 acres of new coal leasing and a proposed 25% increase in logging. Last-minute amendment authorized for the sale of about 1000 thousand acres of public lands in Utah and even more in Nevada. 10. Oppose cuts of gender affirming health care, including removing coverage for gender affirming surgery or hormone therapy. This will affect hundreds of thousands. Of American citizens here in the United States 11. Block Planned Parenthood defunding. This is with particular regard to Planned Parenthood’s regular healthcare operations, such as exams, STD testing, etc. PP funds in no way fund abortion services themselves because of the Hyde Amendment.
