While the nation is flooded daily with political distractions, Congress must not lose sight of the ongoing expansion of ICE detention and enforcement. Reports show detention numbers rising and plans to convert warehouses into large-scale holding centers across the country. At the same time, courts have had to intervene just to preserve Congress’s right to inspect these facilities. This should alarm every member of Congress. Oversight, transparency, and human rights cannot be optional. I urge you to keep ICE accountability at the forefront and refuse to let this issue disappear behind the administration’s constant distractions.
