Tonight I'm writing to urge you to work to enact legislation that bans immigration and law enforcement officers from concealing their identities and agency affiliations. There is model legislation to be found in the No Anonymity in Immigration Enforcement ACT— H.R. 4004 in the US House, or in California's No Secret Police Act (SB 627). While I don't believe that militarized ICE raids should even be happening in our communities, requiring agents show proper identification before grabbing people off the street should at least help mitigate some of the danger. I want you to introduce and to strongly support such legislation in the NC General Assembly. Thank you for your time and consideration.
