Support a Point of Order to Remove Anti-Transgender Provision from Budget Bill
To: Sen. Scott, Sen. Moody
From: A constituent in Orlando, FL
June 29
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing as your constituent to express deep concern over the reintroduction of language banning access to gender-affirming care for transgender people and their families in the current budget legislation. As you know, this provision was previously deemed impermissible under the Byrd Rule and appropriately struck from the bill. Its return undermines both the integrity of the reconciliation process and the rights of transgender Americans.
I respectfully urge you to raise a point of order to remove this provision once again. Doing so would not only uphold Senate procedure but also send a clear message that discrimination has no place in federal policy.
I know this is not an easy political moment, but please know that you have countless constituents who believe in fairness, service, and dignity for all people. We see your leadership, and we are counting on you to stand firm for the constitution and what is right.
Thank you for your continued service. Your action on this issue will echo far beyond the halls of Congress into the next elections.
