Impeach Secretary LaRose for Unconstitutional Voter Data Transfer

To: Rep. Troy, Gov. DeWine, Sen. Cirino

From: A constituent in Willoughby, OH

March 11

I am calling on you to begin impeachment proceedings against Secretary of State Frank LaRose for his unauthorized transfer of Ohio voter data to the Trump administration's Department of Justice. On February 13, LaRose sent our complete voter registration database to federal officials without legislative approval or public notice. LaRose handed over the full names, dates of birth, addresses, driver's license numbers, and partial Social Security numbers of every registered Ohio voter. This represents a massive breach of voter privacy and a violation of both the Ohio and United States Constitutions. While other states are fighting DOJ lawsuits to protect their citizens' data, LaRose capitulated without resistance. This action undermines the voting rights and privacy protections that Ohioans are guaranteed. LaRose had no authority to transfer this sensitive personal information to a federal administration that has openly targeted voter registration systems. His decision exposes millions of Ohioans to potential identity theft and voter intimidation. Impeachment, conviction, and removal from office are the appropriate remedies for this constitutional violation. LaRose betrayed his duty to protect Ohio voters and must be held accountable.
