Pass Strict Regulations on Flock Safety Surveillance Technology in Maryland

Pass Strict Regulations on Flock Safety Surveillance Technology I need you to introduce legislation that regulates Flock Safety surveillance technology and similar systems for Maryland. These cameras are monitoring our movements without adequate oversight, and we need clear legal boundaries on what data they collect, how it's stored, who can access it, and how long it's retained. Flock's surveillance network is expanding rapidly across Maryland and our communities with minimal public input. The technology captures license plates, vehicle details, and location data on every person who drives past these cameras, whether or not they're suspected of any wrongdoing. Without strict regulations, this creates a database tracking the daily movements of law-abiding citizens. We need legislation that limits what data these systems can collect, requires transparency about where cameras are placed, restricts who can access the data and for what purposes, mandates automatic deletion after a short retention period, and prohibits sharing with third parties without a warrant. This isn't about blocking public safety tools. It's about ensuring surveillance technology doesn't become a dragnet that erodes our privacy rights. Pass a law that puts guardrails on Flock and similar surveillance systems before this technology becomes too embedded to regulate effectively.
