Election Rights and Troops at Elections Act

To: Rep. Levy, Sen. Nash, Gov. Kotek

From: A constituent in Union, OR

March 15

Will Oregon do this? I hope so! The governor of New Mexico, Michelle Lujan Grisham signed Senate Bill 264, the Election Rights and Troops at Elections Act, making New Mexico the first state in the nation to explicitly criminalize the presence of military troops or armed federal agents at polling places and ballot drop box locations. Put simply? Sending troops to the polls is now a fourth-degree felony in New Mexico (Conservation Voters New Mexico, Feb. 18, 2026). Thank you!
