Opposing S.5260, the Interstate Obscenity Definition Act

To: Sen. Alsobrooks, Sen. Van Hollen

From: A verified voter in Millersville, MD

May 15

Please vote NO on S.5260. This bill grants dangerous power to the government to define obscenity as anything it disagrees with, including LGBTQ+ people existing or sharing information and experiences. Even if it were only used for the most obviously pornographic material, obscenity is not for the government to regulate; the State is not our religious overseer. Are we free in this country or aren’t we? Please don’t allow this nanny state nonsense to go any further or to endanger LGBTQ+ people.
