As your constituent in central NC, I am concerned about the economy and how farms in NC are suffering from the confusion over frozen federal funds. Despite the freeze being ruled unlawful, farmers are still not receiving payments expected under their contracts. This will hurt my local small farmers that cannot hire for the upcoming spring seasons or be forced to go into insurmountable debt and subsequently close for good. I am worried not only for the small farms in our region but also for how this will affect access to food for my family, as these farms fall behind from lack of funding, reducing the access to fresh foods locally. Please protect our economy by restoring funding & support to our small farmers.
