‘This cannot be sustainable’: The U.S. borrowed $50 billion a week for the past five months, the CBO says.
The Trump administration is spending 1-2 billion dollars a day on a new war, and the US Government continues to add massively to the national debt, yet we are cutting programs that help the average American and handing massive tax cuts to the wealthiest people and corporations.
This is not how we want our tax dollars spent! The American people had no say in a war with Iran. The American people do not want cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, food assistance, and education.
The American people want affordable housing, affordable healthcare, access to healthy, affordable food, affordable gas, and quality public education.
These are not unreasonable expectations in the wealthiest country in the world. These are things that make up basically standard of living in countries with far less wealth than the USA.
It is time to stop putting our tax dollars to work for the billionaire class, lobbyists, and special interest groups. Make that money work for our country, our states, and our communities.
If we, the American people, are on a budget to make ends meet, so must the government be.
No more money for gilded ballrooms and private airplanes. No more spending for luxury office furnishings and trips to the Olympics.
It's time the government to get our financial affairs in orders, and working for the common men and women of this country.
