You CAN reopen the Gov't without Dems - tell Senate to change the rules!
To: Rep. Graves
From: A constituent in Plattsburg, MO
October 9
You know that republicans can reopen the government. The Senate voted on HR1 with a simple majority and can change the Senate rules to do the same now. The blame game actions from a majority party with all the power is silly, unprofessional conduct. May I remind you that the majority party was unable to pass all appropriations bills, a fundamental part of your job. Funding the government is like families paying bills, it needs to be done. Your party is in charge – you are not the victim. If you want the government open, pull on your big boy panties, tell the Senators to change the rules and pass the CR. Please stop acting like you are a victim, it’s showing an apparent weakness and immaturity. Good grief – it doesn’t work playing the victim when your party holds the majority! The whining is beneath the dignity of your office. To the staffer reading this email – I’m sorry for you. Knowing your boss has to lie and expects you to do the same is unfortunate. In 10 or 15 short years, he’ll be gone, having avoided his constituents for a quarter century and you’ll be left with regret at the crumbling of this once great republican party. Read some history – in fact, read what former republicans now say about the party they once revered. It’s gone –
