NO ON HF 527

To: Rep. Thomson, Sen. Salmon

From: A verified voter in Charles City, IA

April 18

HF 572 is an unnecessary and harmful anti-immigrant bill that would criminalize everyday activities for Iowans and undocumented individuals. This bill would make it a crime to knowingly transport someone in the state without authorization, leading to potential arrests for driving undocumented people to appointments or errands. It would breed fear among immigrant communities and increase anti-immigrant sentiments statewide. Similar legislation in other states has damaged relations between law enforcement and immigrant communities, hindering effective policing. I strongly urge you to vote no on HF 572 to avoid these detrimental consequences for Iowa's residents and public safety.
