As an artist and parent that is one of your constituents, I am calling to ask you to oppose the moratorium on state and local AI regulation in the Trump budget. This provision would leave millions of Americans more vulnerable to harms caused by a fast-developing technology. State lawmakers must be able to react to emerging issues and this budget provision irresponsibly ties their hands. You must reject this proposal and demand that it be stripped from the budget bill. This bill is only going to allow misinformation to spread even faster and infringe on the privacy and rights of regular people and artists to enrich corporations.
