End Shutdown, Protect ACA, Release Epstein Files: A Voter's Demand
To: Sen. Curtis, Sen. Lee, Rep. Maloy
From: A constituent in Salt Lake City, UT
November 2
I am writing to you as a deeply concerned and angry voter regarding the ongoing government shutdown and its potential connection to the Epstein files. This is not just another political issue—it's a matter that will significantly influence my vote in the upcoming election.
The use of a government shutdown as a possible tactic to prevent the release of critical documents is an egregious abuse of power that undermines the very foundations of our democracy. We, the people, demand transparency and accountability. The fact that political maneuvering might be obstructing justice and concealing vital information from the public is absolutely unacceptable.
This shutdown must end immediately. Every day it continues, justice is obstructed, and crucial government services are withheld from the American people. Of particular concern are the Affordable Care Act (ACA) subsidies that millions of your constituents, including myself and my family, rely on for essential healthcare. The threat to these subsidies is not a political bargaining chip—it's a direct threat to the health and financial stability of your voters.
I demand that you take immediate action on two fronts:
First, use every tool at your disposal to end this shutdown. Get our government functioning again to ensure the release of the Epstein files and restore all essential services.
Second, fight relentlessly to protect the ACA subsidies. These represent real people in your district who could face dire health consequences or financial ruin if their access to healthcare is compromised.
Let me be clear: this is a hot-button issue that will significantly impact how I and many others in your district vote. We are watching your actions closely. We expect you to stand firmly against any attempts to use a government shutdown as a political weapon, to champion transparency, and to protect our vital healthcare services.
The time for action is now. Demonstrate that you have the courage to fight for what's right. End this shutdown, ensure the release of the Epstein files, and safeguard our healthcare. Your response to this crisis will be a defining factor in how I cast my vote. I, along with your other constituents, await your immediate and decisive action on these critical issues.
