Demand Ethics Investigation of Senator Husted’s Epstein-Linked Donations
To: Sen. Grassley, Sen. Ernst
From: A verified voter in Des Moines, IA
February 13
I urge you to file a formal ethics complaint or co-sign a letter with other senators demanding an investigation into Ohio Senator Jon Husted’s acceptance of campaign contributions from Les Wexner.
Senator Husted accepted $116,892 from Wexner between 2001-2025, including $3,500 on July 3, 2025—just two months before voting September 10, 2025 to block a bipartisan amendment requiring release of Epstein investigation documents.
Wexner was recently identified in FBI documents as a co-conspirator of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Senator Husted is the only senator up for re-election in 2026 who accepted Wexner contributions during the 2025-2026 cycle.
This creates a clear appearance of impropriety. The Senate Code of Official Conduct requires avoiding even the appearance that Senate processes may be influenced by campaign contributions.
The timing raises serious ethical concerns:
∙ Contributions from an individual named in FBI documents as connected to Epstein
∙ Acceptance just weeks before voting against Epstein-related transparency measures
∙ Direct conflict between financial interests and oversight responsibilities
I request you take action by filing a formal complaint with the Senate Ethics Committee or co-signing a letter calling for investigation. The American people deserve to know that votes on transparency measures related to sexual abuse are not influenced by contributions from individuals connected to these crimes.
Public trust in the Senate depends on senators holding colleagues accountable when ethical lines appear crossed. Please inform me of the actions you intend to take.
