I am writing to urge immediate action in response to recent federal actions that represent a grave breakdown of the rule of law. In just days, federal agents have illegally seized children who were lawfully present in the United States, defied a binding federal court order, and shot at least three people—killing two of them—during federal operations in Minnesota. These are not lawful enforcement actions. They violate due process, constitutional protections, and legal limits on the use of federal force. This is not an isolated agency failure. Federal enforcement bodies act under executive authority, and these actions reflect executive lawlessness carried out under the direction of Trump and his administration. I am calling on you to do whatever is within your authority to stop these illegal actions, ensure accountability up to and including impeachment, and defend the rule of law. This moment requires action.
