The current administration's actions are deeply concerning for the future of American democracy. The principles of checks and balances and separation of powers are fundamental to our system of government. Disregarding the authority of the legislative and judicial branches represents a flagrant violation of these bedrock principles. Such overreach undermines the accountability and balance that our founders established to prevent any single branch from accumulating undue power. I urge a course correction to uphold the respected roles of Congress and the courts as co-equal branches. Attempting to diminish or circumvent their constitutional duties jeopardizes the stability of our democratic institutions. We must remain vigilant in defending the integrity of our tripartite system against any efforts to consolidate control. The health of our democracy depends on all three branches being able to fulfill their vital obligations without interference or intimidation.
