Do not support the 3d printer ghost gun bill as proposed

To: Rep. Goodman, Sen. Dhingra, Rep. Springer

From: A verified voter in Woodinville, WA

February 1

The proposed legislation to limit the production of 3d printed ghost guns is flawed, too broad in its impact, and will stifle the hobby, engineering production, small business, as well as introduce massive privacy intrusions. The spirit is genuine, the implementation is ill informed and flawed. Surveillance is required to implement, and enforcement requires disabling equipment and financial impacts to legitimate users, or it will simply force the entire industry underground across the state. Intentional bad actors already know how to hide their printing and production from authorities. Legitimate users should not have to hide themselves to ensure their legitimate use is not inappropriately curtailed. Do not support the legislation as written.
