No war with Iran

To: Rep. Clyburn, Sen. Graham, Sen. Scott

From: A constituent in Charleston, SC

June 17

As your constituent, I am imploring you to do everything in your power to prevent war with Iran. You have this power and a member of Congress. Too often over the past 50 years, presidents have entered into “conflicts” without authorization. This must end. First, I ask you to demand Trump seek authorization under the War Powers Act before taking any military action against Iran. Second, please sign onto Senator Tim Kaine’s war powers resolution or Representative Thomas Massie and Rep. Ro Khanna’s similar war powers resolution in the House. Their efforts could be the difference between diplomacy and disaster. We must stop the escalation now. No one—and I mean no one sane—wants war with Iran.
