Vote Against Hakeem Jeffries for Speaker and Majority Leader

To: Sen. Warner, Sen. Kaine, Rep. Beyer

From: A constituent in Arlington, VA

November 4

Vote against Hakeem Jeffries for Speaker of the House and House Majority Leader when the new Congress is seated on January 3. Democrats just won roughly 255 seats, the largest majority in nearly two decades. Voters delivered that mandate because they want real action on Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act, tariffs, and the Iran war. What they got from Jeffries on election night was vague promises about "transformational change" and a non-answer on impeachment, telling reporters Democrats "haven't ruled anything in and we haven't ruled anything out." That is not leadership. That is hedging while the country waits. This majority is too important to hand to someone who won't commit to using it. Democrats now have subpoena power, committee gavels, and the ability to pass legislation with a simple majority. The moment demands a speaker with a clear agenda and the spine to execute it. Jeffries has not shown that. Vote for new leadership that will.
