FEMA AID NOW - DO YOUR JOB!

To: Gov. Morrisey

From: A constituent in Buckhannon, WV

August 3

Governor Morrisey and Members of the West Virginia Legislature, It has been 13 days since devastating flooding struck Upshur and Lewis Counties, and our communities are still waiting for the federal disaster assistance they desperately need. Congress is about to leave for a month-long recess. Ohio County waited 38 days for its disaster declaration. If our leaders do not act with urgency, families and businesses here could be facing delays of 60 days or more before help arrives. Your responsibility does not end with submitting paperwork. Use your offices, your relationships, and every resource available to press the federal government for immediate action. Coordinate with our congressional delegation, FEMA, and the White House until this gets done. Flood survivors are trying to rebuild their homes, their businesses, and their lives. They cannot afford bureaucratic delays or political finger-pointing. Lead. Advocate. Push until Upshur and Lewis Counties receive the federal disaster declaration and FEMA assistance they deserve. West Virginians have done their part. Now do yours.
