Maintain the Separation of Church and State.
We the people came to the US to escape persecution and seeking religious freedom. It is in the Constitution that we shall have the separation of Church and State and enjoy the freedoms guaranteed by the first amendment.
As a Catholic in Florida, I understand I have the right to believe what I believe. I have the right to attend weekly mass and proclaim my faith with others who believe similarly. I enjoy that right and I want the government to stay out of it.
Do not allow Trump to break this. Do not let him take my religion from me. Do not allow him to take that away from anyone. I do not believe in Judaism, but they have just as much right to their beliefs as I do. I have been to synagogue before as Jesus would have before me and I have learned the roots and understand where my religion comes from. This new religious section Trump is forming could threaten Judaism as it is not Christian. Much like how the Nazi regime targeted Jews and then Catholics.
In 2001, after the terrorist attacks on 9/11, the US rose up. In many ways, our nationalism was phenomenal. I'm others, we suffered. We attacked our Muslim and headscarf wearing Americans. We allowed hated against them for what they had no control over. Just as we interred Japanese Americans citizens after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
The hatred must stop. The Constitution be upheld. We are the United States of America. Do not divide us further by allowing the State to influence and control religious beliefs under the guise of ending persecution.
