Why are health insurance companies allowed to skyrocket premiums?
Corporate monopolies-especially of critical services (healthcare, utilities, food, shelter)- with little to no regulation are bad for consumers and the economy.
Legislators, please work together:
1. Restore the ACA premium tax credits. It's the best option available for the majority of Americans at this time.
2. Establish 'checks & balances' oversight on health insurance companies as soon as possible. Regulations on rates are needed. Regulations on rates within the ACA Marketplace are needed. Cost of living and average American income must become a part of the equation.
3. Work across party lines to establish Universal Health Care for all Americans as soon as possible. Senator Bernie Sanders is probably ready, willing, and able to create or join a Committee for such an endeavor.
Healthcare for all Americans is a pro-life initiative. Look to major countries that already provide universal healthcare for their citizens for guidance.
It's a matter of national priorities. It's attainable. It's a choice.
In solidarity.
