Oppose the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act

To: Sen. Sheehy, Sen. Daines, Rep. Zinke

From: A constituent in Clinton, MT

October 23

Oppose the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act. Locking in Trump-era energy approvals is not a compromise, it is a permanent handover of public resources to fossil fuel interests. No jobs bill is worth that price. Energy approvals granted under the previous administration bypassed critical environmental review and favored extraction projects over long-term community health. Codifying those approvals into law removes any future ability to revisit, revise, or reverse decisions that were made without adequate public input. That is not affordability. That is a giveaway dressed up in bipartisan branding. I am watching this vote closely. A yes vote on this bill is a vote to permanently entrench policies that most constituents never supported in the first place.
