As you approach your leadership election, I urge you to pick someone other than Hakeem Jeffries. I have no faith in his ability to meet this moment. There is so much talent in the caucus, and we simply cannot afford someone who has shown no ability to fight, to message effectively, to inspire the base. It is deeply discouraging to hear Mr Jeffries already talking about working across the aisle and “not wanting revenge.” This moment calls for both oversight and policy— to undo the damage of the past 2+ years. You owe it to the voters who delivered this historic victory to step up to both. Do your job. Thank you.
