Demand rigorous vetting of Trump's Cabinet nominees, reject unfit
To: Sen. Kelly
From: A constituent in Scottsdale, AZ
November 14
The Senate must thoroughly vet all of President-elect Trump's nominees to ensure they are qualified and fit to serve in their prospective roles. The nomination of Matt Gaetz as Attorney General is especially concerning given the ethics investigation into alleged misconduct during his time in Congress. It is imperative that the details of this investigation are made public so senators can properly evaluate his fitness for such a powerful position. While the President has authority to nominate cabinet members, the Senate has an equal responsibility to thoroughly review those choices and reject any nominees deemed unfit or unqualified. Sweeping personal loyalties aside, a rigorous vetting process upholds democratic norms and protects the integrity of our governing institutions. The American people deserve Cabinet officials committed to serving the national interest, not personal agendas. I urge you to demand full transparency around these nominees and to vote against any that fail to meet the highest ethical and professional standards expected of public servants.
