Please support free school lunches for the kids of the state

To: Rep. Walsh, Sen. Wilson, Rep. McEntire, Gov. Ferguson

From: A constituent in Longview, WA

March 2

House Bill 1404 increases access to free meals for all students at public schools across Washington state. This important legislation recognizes that proper nutrition is essential for a child's academic success and overall well-being. When students do not have to worry about going hungry during the school day, they can better focus on learning. Providing free meals helps ensure no child is stigmatized or singled out due to their family's financial circumstances. Free school meals also ease the burden on low-income families struggling with rising costs. By investing in our children's nutrition today, we are investing in their future and the future of our state. I urge you to support HB 1404 to expand free meal access and help every student in Washington thrive.
