As your constituent, I want you to vote NO on the DHS funding bill. Only vote for a bill that includes: - A ban on the deportation of US citizens and legal residents, full stop - Mandates and funding for body cameras for all agents - Enforced training that includes de-escalation tactics and lasts at least 5 months (including sending existing agents to complete this if they’ve not) - Explicit use of force standards - Protocols for arrests in sensitive locations - Requiring a signed judicial warrant for arrests and the release/return of anybody denied this right previously - Denies agents immunity at the federal and state level when they breach standards of conduct and legal means of engagement, retroactively as well as going forward - Reduces and eliminates incentives that result in agents overstepping their legal obligations such as meeting arbitrary quotas - Reduces the number of agents to 2014 levels - Required, thorough background checks prior to employment to disqualify agents with criminal records, both retroactively and going forward - Dictates that ICE officials cannot carry firearms, only batons, tasers, or pepper spray; lethal force should only be employed by actual Law Enforcement officers - Prevents anybody besides DHS or Congress from directing ICE activities Ultimately, ICE should be disbanded and completely shut down. It’s not necessary and it certainly shouldn’t be allowed to operate the way it has been in 2026. Please vote NO on additional DHS funding, and rally other Congress members to follow suit.
