I’m writing because of my deep concern having to do with DOGE’s reckless cuts in agencies all over the federal government. Today, I write out of concern for Social Security, which, as a retired American worker, I expect to continue without interruption. The crisis in our federal government has everything to do with this rogue, “agency,” that has no legal remit and, under the direction of Elon Musk, is proceeding in an exceedingly chaotic and dangerous way. You, my elected representatives, owe it to me and your constituency to see that programs like Social Security, which represent an investment over time, over a working person‘s life, in a modest future benefit. I worked hard at a job that helped other people. I raised six children, helped them go to college, and help them get started in their adult lives. Is it right that working Americans like myself should be placed in this precarious situation? Do your job! Check and Balance, the reckless act actions of the executive branch and of DOGE. I will be watching to see that you do.
