Oppose Kash Patel’s FBI Nomination or Lose My Vote
To: Sen. Curtis
From: A constituent in Holladay, UT
February 7, 2025
Representative Curtis,
I am deeply concerned about the potential nomination of Kash Patel as FBI Director. His record shows a dangerous pattern of partisanship, dishonesty, and undermining law enforcement. Consider the following:
• Politicized Intelligence: Patel played a key role in drafting the misleading "Nunes memo," which distorted classified information to attack the Russia investigation.
• Undermined National Security: As chief of staff to the acting Secretary of Defense, Patel interfered with intelligence operations and downplayed the January 6th attack.
• Aligned with Extremists: He promoted the "J6 choir," a group of convicted January 6th rioters, and pushed false conspiracy theories about the FBI’s involvement in the insurrection.
You promised not to rubber-stamp Trump’s nominees, yet you have voted yes for every appointee—without asking tough questions. This blind loyalty does not represent Utah values.
I have supported you since your time in Provo, but that support is now in jeopardy. If you continue down this path, you will lose my vote and that of many others who value integrity over party allegiance.
