Dear Members of Congress, Today, March 19, 2026, President Trump sat beside the Prime Minister of Japan in the Oval Office and asked — “Why didn’t you tell me about Pearl Harbor?” We are left with two possibilities. Either this was a joke — a grotesque, diplomatically reckless joke made to the leader of one of our most critical Pacific allies, in front of the world’s cameras, while we are actively at war. Or this man is genuinely losing his grip on history and reality, unable to distinguish an 85-year-old act of war from a relevant point in a modern diplomatic conversation. We ask you, Congress: which answer is acceptable? Because neither is. This is not an isolated incident. In recent weeks, the President appeared to forget the name of his own press secretary. He is waging a war that has killed American troops, lifting sanctions that funnel money to Russia while Moscow helps Iran target those same troops, and now humiliating allied heads of state on the world stage. A man who cannot tell the difference between 1941 and 2026 — does not have the judgment to command the most powerful military on earth. You took an oath. The 25th Amendment exists for moments like this. We are asking you to have the courage to use the tools the Constitution gave you — before the cost of inaction becomes one none of us can afford.
