Oppose HCR 14 – Protect Essential Programs Like Medicare & Medicaid
To: Rep. Owens
From: A constituent in Saratoga Springs, UT
February 25
I am writing to strongly oppose House Concurrent Resolution 14. This resolution would worsen the deficit while mandating cuts to essential programs like Medicare and Medicaid, all to finance tax cuts for the wealthy. These cuts would disproportionately harm seniors, low-income families, and individuals who rely on these vital services for healthcare and economic stability.
Slashing funding for Medicare and Medicaid would have devastating consequences, increasing healthcare costs for those who can least afford it and limiting access to necessary medical care. Instead of prioritizing tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans, we should be working toward fiscal responsibility in a way that protects the well-being of all citizens, particularly the most vulnerable.
I urge you to oppose HCR 14 and instead support policies that safeguard essential programs while ensuring a fair and responsible approach to economic policy. I will be closely following your stance on this issue.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
