An Open Letter

To: Sen. Scott, Rep. Donalds, Sen. Moody

From: A constituent in Cape Coral, FL

June 29

As a citizen concerned about our ability to have privacy and our information protected I implore that you oppose H.R. 7757, the KIDS Act bill package. The KIDS Act isn’t meant to protect the vulnerable nor the population. This will only leave us more exposed to potential dangers and misuse of private citizens information. To truly protect everyone what’s needed is for there to be support and education for both adults and children of all ages. I say this as someone who is surrounded by children in my professional line of work. Giving your citizens the tools and knowledge to protect themselves will take them further than what’s being proposed. Companies are undeserving of the trust that it’d require to provide one’s own information. And it is unjust to so many to require that private citizens provide their personal information to those who will not do all they can to protect it.
