Reject Casey Means Nomination — A Matter of National Security On Thursday, the Senate Health Committee will hold a confirmation hearing for Casey Means, the president’s pick for U.S. Surgeon General. This nomination is not just unqualified—it’s dangerous. Dr. Means has an inactive medical license, never completed her residency, and has no public-health or crisis-leadership experience. She’s earned hundreds of thousands through wellness and supplement companies whose profits could be shaped by policies she’d control. She’s aligned with the “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) movement tied to RFK Jr. and anti-science agendas that erode public trust. Even more alarming, her brother Calley Means is a special government employee at HHS advising on food policy while owning wellness and tech-health companies (Truemed, Levels Health) that would directly benefit from the policies she could influence. Their overlapping roles represent a textbook conflict of interest and a national-security threat to the integrity of federal public-health leadership. The Surgeon General’s office is critical to national preparedness, crisis communication, and bioterrorism response. We cannot afford a nominee whose business and ideological loyalties compromise America’s safety. Congress must: 1️⃣ Reject Casey Means’s nomination immediately. 2️⃣ Block all further nominees and challenge every executive order, proclamation, and policy until this administration puts ordinary Americans—workers, veterans, and families—over billionaire interests. 3️⃣ Demand that Rep-elect Adelita Grijalva, lawfully elected on Sept 23, be sworn in without further delay. Her exclusion undermines democracy itself. Public health is national security. Protect us, not the powerful. Americans are watching.
