No public or live-streamed executions

To: Sen. Graham Nordone, Sen. Scott, Rep. Wilson

From: A verified voter in Columbia, SC

October 9

The NYT reports that Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, who perpetrated a horrific shooting at Ft Hood is going to be publicly executed and potentially live-streamed. While his crime was horrendous, the decision to publicly air his execution is immoral and dangerous. If the NYT report is true, I urge you to strongly oppose it or call the Secretary of Defense to the hill to testify. Whether or not Hasan deserves to die, no American should be encouraged to witness the death of another human being. This proposal turns a serious crime and its punishment into blood sport, and it is sickening.
