Disgusting misuse of power at Town Hall
To: Rep. Bell
From: A constituent in Saint Louis, MO
August 20, 2025
The way the town hall was handled was a vile representation of how you refuse to listen to your constituents. Chokeslamming a former alderperson, forcing people to the ground for speaking, is this the legacy you wish to leave? Your first action of silencing your constituents who simply wanted to speak to you bodes poorly for your term. This is NOT the representation we want as citizens of St. Louis. You need to step up and listen to your constituents and put your personal feelings and fears of your own constituents aside. The fact that you even fear your own constituents enough to enact such force onto us dehumanizes us. You were elected by the elite, but you represent all of us. Act like it. Ticketing your town halls further prevents those who are the most underrepresented and in need within our community to even be heard at all. We demand an open town hall where you do not tell us to be quiet, where you listen first to your constituents. We demand a town hall that feels safe, where you are not enacting violence against your constituents. At the bare minimum, a town hall where there is no violence towards those who served this community long before you. Do better. This was disgusting, disappointing, and confirmed that you do not work for your constituents.
