I am very concerned about the Texas GOP‘s alarming plan led by Trump to redraw their congressional maps mid-decade to rig future elections. I believe our state legislature needs to be ready to respond. I’m asking you to take these steps. First, review our State’s redistricting laws and what it would take to allow responsive map changes. Second, make a public commitment that we won’t stand standby if Republicans undermine democracy. If they rig their maps, we can’t afford for you to do nothing. We must respond in kind. Strongly worded statements will not do. It is time for action. It is time to defend democracy. It is time to save the United States of America. I expect you to act or I will vote you out of office.
