An Open Letter

To: Sen. Moody, Rep. Haridopolos, Sen. Scott

From: A constituent in Indialantic, FL

April 14

The 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution clearly prohibits any president from being elected to more than two terms. Attempting to circumvent or repeal this amendment would undermine the foundational principles of our democracy. We must uphold the Constitution and its safeguards against consolidation of power. No individual should be allowed to serve more than the constitutionally mandated limit, regardless of their popularity or claims. Protecting our democratic institutions is paramount to maintaining a free and just society. I urge you to reject any efforts to extend presidential term limits and to ensure the 22nd Amendment remains intact and enforced. Preserving the checks and balances outlined in the Constitution is essential for the long-term health of our republic.
