I am appalled to read that, yet again, the House will be out of session for weeks. It is obvious that Mike Johnson has been using this as a tactic to prevent voting on issues he deems inconvenient for his and the president's personal political priorities. If the average American missed this much work in order to dodge challenges, they would not be receiving a full paycheck, they'd definitely lose full time benefits, such as health care, and they would almost certainly be fired. This is all happening on the tax payers' dime. It is only able to happen because the Republican majority in the House has allowed Mike Johnson to hijack this session of Congress. He is unfit to be Speaker of the House, and anyone not vocally challenging him is equally responsible for this behavior.
