As you know, Black Rock has moved to buy AES. This is alarming for several reasons, not the least of which will undoubtedly mean higher energy prices for Hoosiers, but also, it paves the way for AI data centers, which bring few employment opportunities to the state as well as endangering the Indiana water supply. Blackrock is also in negotiations to buy Minnesota's parent energy company ALLETE. This corporate takeover of utility companies is alarming. Do you remember playing Monopoly as a kid? Whoever controlled the railroads and utility companies usually won the game. Surely, there are antitrust laws in play here. Surely, someone in government sees how dangerous this is for Hoosiers and beyond. I oppose the corporate takeover of utility companies and Blackrock's bid to buy AES. I hope you will do what is right here and oppose it too.
