When you rent a car you can add your spouse for free as a driver. We can see this example hold true in many other cases. Now why is that not true for all credit cards? Credit card companies charge got authorized users and do not provide those users a full set of benefits. If they want to charge for an authorized user then they should provide the exact same benefit package to them. Otherwise authorized users that are your spouse should be free.
