I am writing to demand immediate congressional intervention to stop the absolute trainwreck currently unfolding in our federal government at the hands of Elon Musk. The latest reporting makes it abundantly clear: The Trump administration has given Musk carte blanche to run roughshod over our institutions, dismantling agencies, strong-arming officials, and consolidating power in a way that is both unprecedented and completely unacceptable. If Congress does not act now, there may not be a functional federal government left to defend. Musk, a private businessman with glaring conflicts of interest, has been granted unchecked authority to gut entire agencies, seize access to government financial and personnel systems, and insert his own lackeys—many of whom have no relevant experience—into key positions. He is actively undermining congressional authority, violating civil service protections, and operating without transparency, oversight, or any regard for legality. The level of recklessness here is staggering. This is not “government efficiency.” This is an unaccountable billionaire using federal power for his own ideological and financial gain. The reported moves to shut down USAID, access the Treasury’s payment systems, and manipulate AI-driven budget cuts are nothing short of an assault on democratic governance. If Congress does not put an end to this immediately, you will be complicit in allowing one man to seize control of the government like it’s his latest vanity project. I am urging you—no, demanding—that you use every tool at your disposal to stop this madness: • Launch immediate investigations into Musk’s activities, conflicts of interest, and legal violations. • Block funding for any executive actions or agency overhauls Musk is spearheading. • Pass emergency legislation barring special government employees from making policy changes that directly benefit their business interests. • Reinforce Congress’s authority over agency budgets and prevent any further Musk-led agency dismantling without congressional approval. • If necessary, take legal action to challenge this abuse of power in court. This is not a partisan issue.It concerns preventing the destruction of the federal government by a billionaire who sees laws and institutions as obstacles to bulldoze rather than structures to uphold.
