More Reasons to Vote NO on the Big Ugly Budget Bill

To: Rep. Foxx, Sen. Budd, Sen. Tillis

June 26

The current version of the Big Ugly Budget Bill, will kick millions of Americans off their health insurance, cuts taxes for the wealthy, and adds Trillions to the deficit. The Child Tax Credit and EITC are popular because they work. But this Bill includes a measure that will impose new and burdensome requirements to make it harder to access these tax credits. This bill will Block Taxpayers from Directly Filing our Taxes. U.S. taxpayers are already participating in the early version of Direct File. Only the Tax Preparation services industry opposes this program. Their greed is being prioritized over the needs of the U.S. taxpayers. Why would Congress block a free tax-filing program that saves Americans time and money? Then there's the gun silencers provision of this "Budget" bill. Since the 1930s, there has been a registration requirement and a tax associated with purchasing a silencer, America has long regulated silencers as a matter of common sense. But this Ugly Bill would eliminate this registration process altogether. Making Americans less safe and losing out on the funds gathered from the registration fees. All of these provisions, and many more in this bill, are Bad for Americans. And only good for Republican special interest groups. Put your constituents first. Vote NO on this Big Ugly Budget Bill!
