I am a lapsed Catholic. However as someone who spent part of my formative years in Catholic School and spent afternoons in middle school helping our parish nuns; I saw Pope Francis as a beacon of hope for the direction of the Church. I am utterly dismayed at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s comments on X today. Reading about her ex-Catholicism, she took issues with the Church for providing aid to undocumented individuals. How Christ-like of her. I am calling on Republicans and Democrats to censure her for her thoughtless comments on an honorable figure.
